Now that all of NATO’s weapons and ammunition stockpiles have been shipped off to Ukraine, there is almost nothing left in its stockpiles.
NATO’s Military Committee is pushing the alliance to increase arms production immediately as the “bottom of the barrel” is now in sight.
Dutch Adm. Rob Bauer made these claims on the first day of the Warsaw Security Forum, explaining that while NATO’s military budgets were increased before the Russian invasion, the Western arms industry failed to increase production capacity.
“And that has led to higher prices already before the war. And that actually has (been) exacerbated by the fact that we now give away weapon systems to Ukraine, which is great, and ammunition, but not from full warehouses,” Bauer is quoted as saying to TVP World.
“We started to give away from half-full or lower warehouses in Europe and therefore the bottom of the barrel is now visible. And we need the industry to ramp up production at a much higher tempo and we need large volumes.”

Earlier in the year, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg issued a similar warning when he proclaimed that Kiev was using artillery shells at a much faster rate than the entire NATO alliance could produce more to replace them.
This is when someone with a brain should have started asking serious questions about the sustainability of dumping endless weapons, ammo, and cash into the coffers of the Volodymyr Zelensky regime, but of course that did not happen.
Now, way after the fact, the United States and its allies are taking steps to try to ramp up production, but this is likely to be a failure as Russia is clearly winning the war in Ukraine no matter how many trillions of dollars’ worth of resources are spent trying to stop it.
We know from a British military source who spoke with The Telegraph that the United Kingdom has completely run out of weapons to send to Ukraine.
“We will continue to source equipment to provide for Ukraine, but what they need now is things like air defense assets and artillery ammunition, and we’ve run dry on all that,” the unnamed source said.
“We’ve given away just about as much as we can afford.”
The UK remains one of the staunchest supporters of Ukraine, having sent Storm Shadow cruise missiles with a range of 155 miles, as well as toxic depleted uranium ammunition to be used in British-made Challenger 2 tanks.
Ben Wallace, who has since resigned as defense secretary, told Prime Minister Rishi Sunak that billions more needed to be spent so Britain could overtake Germany as Ukraine’s top supporter in Europe. This pissing contest upset the aforementioned unnamed source, who stated that it is not London’s job to provide these “billions.”
“Giving billions more doesn’t mean giving billions of British kit,” this person added.
By all appearances, NATO has lost the ability to support the proxy war in Ukraine, even if it wants to. Poland recently declared that it will no longer be sending any weapons to Ukraine, while Slovakia recently elected a candidate who campaigned on ending all military support for Ukraine.
In the U.S., Congress is still arguing over what to do about the $24 billion in new funding that fake president Joe Biden wants to send Zelensky in his latest welfare check.
